Living in an era which mainly operates online can make it difficult to know who you can trust. Many people believe shopping in person is safer than shopping online, but this may not always be the case. If you’re in doubt then do some research to ensure you’re not being ripped off.

1) Make sure the business offers full transparency. If you struggle to get in contact with a company or feel they aren’t completely committed to your event, it might be the first sign something is wrong. You need to know you can trust where your money is going.

2) Do a little digging. If you are in doubt or just want to ensure you can trust a business then do some research. Does their website look creditable? Do they regularly update their social media? Do they look and sound professional? These are the questions you need to ask yourself.

3) Look for references. It’s important to keep your peace of mind so speak to previous customers. Look through reviews on websites and social media and contact these people to see what they have to say. Listen to word of mouth from the local community to ensure the company can be trusted.

4) Discuss your concerns. Businesses who have nothing to hide will be happy to address your concerns to put your mind at ease. If you get sketchy answers and businesses who try to avoid answering questions, it might mean it’s time to look elsewhere.
